Taproom & Bottleshop
At Sip City Market & Bottle Shop, we are proud to be a vibrant hub that celebrates the local spirit and creativity of Charlotte. Our shelves are brimming with a diverse array of locally and regionally crafted goods, including craft beers, wines, unique gifts, souvenirs, and convenience items. But we are more than just a bottle shop; we're a community gathering place.
Step inside, and you'll find a warm and inviting atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating options. To complement our exceptional drink selection, we offer a draft beer and wine by the glass bar, perfect for savoring the finest local beverages. Our Mediterranean kitchen, lovingly managed by my mother who owned a restaurant in Syria for over two decades, brings delectable flavors to our patrons, offering a culinary experience that's both familiar and exotic.
What sets Sip City apart even further is the thoughtful addition of a different board game at every table. We believe in creating an environment that encourages people to disconnect from the outside world and distractions, allowing them to immerse themselves in the joy of spending quality time with friends and family. Our aim is to foster a sense of togetherness and laughter as people engage in friendly competition, all while cherishing the moments they share in our cozy space.
Sip City is not just a place to shop; it's a space to connect, unwind, and discover the heart of the community. With a diverse range of locally sourced products, a warm and welcoming ambiance, the loving touch of family-inspired cuisine, and the laughter of board games filling the air, we invite everyone to be a part of this unique and enjoyable experience.
My name is Yazan Humaideh, also known as Yaz, I am the founder of Sip City Market & Bottle Shop, which is located in the lovely Plaza Midwood neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina. I was born and raised in Damascus, Syria, until I was sixteen years old. I moved to the United States in 2010 in pursuit of an opportunity that many people around the world desire: The Green Card. At the time, my family had an established business in Syria, and my two sisters were in college, which prevented my family from taking advantage of that opportunity. I, on the other hand, was a high school sophomore with nothing to lose and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pursue.
Thirteen years later, I've progressed from bagging groceries to leading grocery departments at Publix Supermarkets, managing stores for Harris Teeter Supermarkets, and most recently overseeing operations for Target as a General Merchandise & Online Ordering Fulfillment Executive Leader in the Gastonia market and a Food & Beverage Coordinator in the Charlotte, Greensboro, Asheville, and surrounding markets. Working for such reputable companies over the years has allowed me to work alongside some of the industry's strongest leaders, peers, bosses, and team members who have helped me grow as a leader, a person, and achieve my goals. I'm grateful for every opportunity, challenge, lesson, and person I've met along the way, and I'm especially grateful for my family, my soon-to-be wife, friends, and everyone who has supported me through thick and thin to reach the Sip City milestone!
I'm excited to provide the Plaza Midwood and Charlotte communities with a one-of-a-kind and enjoyable social experience, music to complement the mood of the hour or day, or a matching experience for the 'want to have fun but don't want to leave the house' kind of days through our online store by visiting our website http://www.sipcitycharlotte.com and/or engaging with us through our social media platforms. Our store and online platforms are outfitted with advanced technology for a smooth shopping experience, accurate inventory and stock levels, online ordering, order pickup, shipping, loyalty and rewards programs, electronic gift cards, and my favorite part is the seemingly endless number of gifting options to choose from that are prepped, packaged, and shipped by one of our valuable team members.
